TERMS & CONDITIONS

K9brats are fully insured and abide by the code of conduct of the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC). We offer behaviour treatment courses and occasional private tuition (subject to availability) in addition to a range of group classes. By booking an appointment or a place on one of our group classes, you agree that you have read, understood and accepted the relevant statements below.

Behaviour Treatment and Private Tuition

  • Before, during and after your sessions, your dog is your own responsibility. He/she must be controlled at all times by you, the owner. K9brats accepts no responsibility for any injury or damages to any animal, person or property while participating in any training or behaviour modification session.

  • We make every effort to accept and support learners with special needs. Please let us know in advance if you or your dog have any special needs so that we can strive to accommodate these.

  • Payment for sessions is due at your appointment. A deposit must be paid before the behaviourist attend. A cancellation fee is applicable where cancellations are made with less than 24 hours notice. These fees are clearly stated on your booking confirmation.

  • When booking, dates will be agreed upon by us (K9BRATS) and by you (the customer) in advance If we need to cancel the appointment due to extenuating circumstances (such as illness) your appointment will be rescheduled.

  • No handler under the age of 16 will be allowed to participate unless accompanied by a responsible adult.

  • Whilst every effort is made to ensure the safety of dogs and handlers, working with dogs is not without risk. You are expected to behave in a safe and responsible manner and please keep your dog on lead (unless instructed otherwise).

  • Behaviour diagnostic appointment  covers your initial consultation. Your fee includes support for 3 months. Furthermore, any follow up appointments must be booked within 1 year of the initial consultation date.

  • Behaviour treatment requires a full veterinary referral and medical history prior to the date of your first appointment. You will receive a full written report of your first consultation, a copy of which will be forwarded to the referring vet.

Group classes

You will have received our general rules for group classes along with your booking information. K9BRATS reserves the right to remove you from our group classes if you are in breach of these rules. In such circumstances you will not be eligible for a refund.

  • We make every effort to accept and support learners with special needs. Please let us know in advance if you or your dog have any special needs so that we can strive to accommodate these.

  • Payment is due in advance to secure your place on the course/block. All group classes are run as 6 week blocks, your payment keeps your place available for you, even if you are unable to attend every class. Refunds will not be issued for missed classes. However, regular attenders of our ongoing classes (agility ,hoopers, scentwork, rally only) will receive a reduced payment for the following block if they have been forced to miss 2 or more classes due to injury and  bitches season.

  • Very occasionally we may need to cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances or other commitments. We will inform you of this by text or email as soon as possible (please ensure we have your up to date contact details). In these circumstances missed class will be usually be added to the end of the block or, if this is not possible, a credit will be issued.

  • Group training sessions suit dogs who can focus and be reasonably calm around strange people and other dogs. On rare occasions a dog may find the group sessions too stressful to learn. If this is the case, we may suggest that the class environment isn’t suitable and you may be offered an alternative private session lasting 1.5 hours.

  • If you have booked onto a specific course and, due to unforeseen reasons, we need to cancel the course, it will be rescheduled so that you won’t miss out. If however, for your own reasons, you cannot attend, your place cannot be substituted for future courses, nor will a refund be offered. You are welcome to send your dog with a family member or friend in lieu of you attending. 

  • Regarding Covid 19 if classes have to be cancelled due to covid the course will have a break and then will return at the earliest opportunity, if you are then unable to attend the rest of the course a refund will not be offered. If Covid 19 has interrupted a start date of the class and the class is unable to run you will be given an option of a full refund, or an alternative class. If choosing an alternative class then this a new booking and subject to the other terms and conditions.

  • If cancelling classes after the 7 day confirmation email has been sent a £10 admin or late cancellation charge will be taken from the course fee and the rest will be refunded, unless we deem the cancellation an exceptional circumstance.

  • No mis-handling or physical abuse of dogs in class will be condoned and, following a warning, owners will be asked to leave class if this is continued.

  • School aged children are welcome to attend training however no handler under the age of 16 will be allowed to participate in any training session unless accompanied by a responsible adult.

K9BRATS staff are there to help you and your dog.
